Aisling and Ciaran – 18th January 2020

I’m often asked if I have an all time favourite wedding. I usually reply that I tend to have favourites from each year, weddings that stand out for one reason or another. This year, I’ve only shot one wedding so far and I already have a contender for future favourite!

Aisling and Ciaran’s wedding was in Cloghan Castle near Loughrea, a stunning location I love working in. After my initial meeting with Aisling and Ciaran I realised I was very lucky to be chosen by them to be their photographer. A more easy going, exuberent and fun loving couple you couldn’t hope to meet but little did I know how wonderful their wedding would be.

The day was beautiful and conditions were perfect for the photo plans we’d made. With everyone getting ready in the castle, Aisling and Ciaran avoided seeing each other until our planned First Look which brought tears to my eyes. Aisling looked so beautiful in the winter sun and Ciaran was so nervous and excited as she approached.

Before the ceremony we then took full advantage of the beautiful weather with our photo shoot. Aisling being as amazing as she is, trod through frosty, waterlogged grass to get to the spot I’d picked. As I cautioned her she told me “If I slip and fall it’ll be a funny story to tell when we’re old.”

Yes, I adored Aisling and Ciaran.

After an intimate ceremony with close family and friends at Loughrea Cathedral we returned to Cloghan Castle for drinks, chocolates and a sing song with a guest playing guitar, the perfect day, topped off by a few photos against the setting sun.

Thank you so much Aisling and Ciaran for choosing me to be your photographer, I adored your wedding and I adored the two of you xxx
